After quite a long wait in the dark below the basement stairs, Soult finally brought his alter ego Dubbling Crack Monster back to the table.
First rumors went around in spring 2013 - now it's official: The Dubbling Crack Monster is responsible for the fourth release on Soult's mysterious tape label, Inner Noise. The follow up to the 2009 tape triology that featured Soult himself, alongside Goh and Dubbling Crack Monster, is a rough ride through the analog studio equipment. But don't be mistaken: through the waves of noise and hissing sounds, "Breakdown Rainbow" unfolds raw electronic beauty:
The four tracks build up a dark rainbow in distorted colours, they frame it in black and end in a breakdown. The tracks were recorded only with a Korg MS20, a Korg Electribe ER-1 and the effects of a Alesis NanoVerb and a distortion pedal. This reduced set-up finally leads to the sound of the broken guitar pedal - Breakdown.
